Three dozen businesses participating in Columbia’s Holiday Open House Nov. 6-7

COLUMBIA, Miss. (WDAM) - The Columbia business community is celebrating Christmas early this weekend.

About three dozen businesses all across town are participating in the Holiday Open House.

They will be staying open late Friday night and some will have extended hours on Saturday.

Many of the businesses will have special holiday deals for shoppers.

Meanwhile, the city of Columbia is preparing to host other events during the upcoming holiday season, including the annual Christmas Marketplace and Columbia Christmas in the Park at Friendship Park.

“We’re going to be scheduling events, from live music to scavenger hunts at the park, of course, Santa is going to be there quite often and Mrs. Claus will be stopping in, to share and have a festive time with all the kids,” said Justin McKenzie, mayor of Columbia.
