Furniture store owners charged

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Two North Mississippi furniture store

owners have been charged with insurance fraud.

Attorney General Jim Hood says 36-year-old Dustin Metcalf of

Plano, Texas, and 61-year-old Ted Carskadden of Oxford, Miss.,

co-owners of Oxford Furniture Co., face a Nov. 18 preliminary

hearing in Lafayette County Circuit Court.

Hood says Metcalf faces 31 counts of insurance fraud. Carskadden

faces one count of felony false pretense.

Hood says former furniture store employees filed complaints that

their paychecks were docked for health insurance coverage they were

not receiving.

Hood says some of the workers, thinking they had medical

coverage, had medical expenses that were unpaid.
