The Town of Sandersville in Jones County is turning 100-years-old. A centennial celebration featured a parade down Front Street, which included antique cars, fire trucks and horses. Folks then gathered a nearby park for some barbecue, games for kids and other activities. The event is doubling as a 100-year birthday party and fundraiser for the local fire department. The town was founded in 1906, but three families actually settled the land around Sandersville in the early 1800's. They were the Fergusons, the Smiths and the Sanders.
