Ellisville business making wish come true for 4-year-old girl

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) - An Ellisville business is hoping you will help them make a wish come true for a local 4-year-old girl who is chronically ill. The owners of Hunters Edge said they have watched their friends, the Jack family, fight for their little girl's life.

Nicole Williams, who works at the gun and ammunition store, said they have to help 4-year-old Brantley Jack.

"We are going to try to raise money to help this little girl," Williams said.

According to Williams, Brantley was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a type of congenital heart defect. Williams said the left side of Brantley's heart did not form correctly. Even after five surgeries and regular trips to a children's hospital for blood transfusions, Brantley's doctors said a transplant wouldn't help her, and her long-term prognosis doesn't look good.

"So, eventually what will happen is she will outgrow her heart," Williams said.

Williams said her family asked Brantley's parents: "If their little girl could have one wish, what would it be?" Williams said their response was a trip to Disney World to meet Mickey Mouse. Williams said to help make that happen, the store started a raffle, all proceeds going towards Brantley's wish.

"We are raffling off a DPMS Oracle AR 15. What people can do is come in and they can purchase a raffle ticket, and we can put their name in a drawing," Williams said.

Williams said Hunters Edge is hoping the raffle ticket purchases and donations will help them reach their goal of $7,500 to help Brantley meet Mickey Mouse.

The raffle drawing is tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. at Hunters Edge in Ellisville. Tickets can still be purchased before then. One ticket is $5 or five tickets for $20. You can donate to help make Brantley's wish come true by calling 601-800-8256.
