FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - The aftermath of a truck fire is causing traffic delays in the northbound lanes of Interstate 59 north of Hattiesburg.

A truck hauling a trailer caught fire on the shoulder of the interstate between the Monroe Road exit and the Evelyn Gandy Parkway exit sometime before 2:50 p.m. Monday.

Traffic in the area is moving slowly as crews work to clear the scene. As of 3:20 p.m., traffic was backed up all the way to Evelyn Gandy Parkway.
