2 Jones County women arrested during traffic stop

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Sanderville police arrested a pair of Jones County women on Wednesday night.
Trinity McCraw and Jacqueline "Shelly" Byrd were arrested during a traffic stop on East Main St. Wednesday night around 6:30. Byrd had outstanding misdemeanor warrants from Sandersville PD and Jones County Justice Court.
During the traffic stop the SVPD Officer discovered that McCraw had approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine wrapped in six individual packages hidden in her pants. McCraw admitted to the officer that she is pregnant and has continued to use methamphetamine during her pregnancy. Both were transported to the jail.
On Thursday search warrants were obtained to confirm McCraw's illegal drug usage during her pregnancy. She will have an initial appearance tomorrow at 1:00 with Judge Harper. She is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to distribute and Felony Child Abuse/Neglect and is currently out on bond for Simple Assault on a law enforcement officer from an arrest in December 2016.
Jones County Sheriff's Department adopted a drug felony case after Sandersville Police Department made the arrest.
