LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - In a county courtroom Tuesday, a Lamar County woman pleaded guilty in the case involving a lewd act with a dog.
Amy Graves, 43, was arrested Feb. 21, 2017, and charged with one felony count of unnatural intercourse/bestiality, according to Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel.
Graves pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor in connection to the original charge, according to Rigel, and was sentenced to one year with credit for the 21 days she already served, and the rest of her time suspended with mandatory court approved counseling.
Rigel said through the forensic interviews, they reviewed the process of how images and videos in the case were uploaded online, and his department missed the statue of limitations by roughly a month on the charges.
Previous Information:
She was arrested when Lamar County deputies and investigators served a search warrant on her home along Joe Traylor Road in February.
"This is a tip that came through crime stoppers," Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel said in a previous interview. "We have video evidence of the crime occurring that was posted online, which led us to the search and arrest warrant."
Rigel could not disclose the type of dog in the investigation, and said the dog was left with family members.
**Editors Note** Updated information has been changed from the guilty plea from a felony to a misdemeanor with updated information from Sheriff Rigel.
