MISSISSIPPI (WDAM) - With the upcoming presidential elections, officials across the country are asking everyone to get out and vote.
A major social media website is helping by reminding folks to register before it is too late.
Facebook is displaying a banner for users in states with upcoming primaries.
It is not the first time the social media giant has stepped into the political ring.
The company co-sponsored presidential debates with Fox and CNN.
Facebook also credits over 600,000 additional voters to a social experiment they conducted in 2010.
An increasing number of states are allowing online registrations to get a higher turnout, but right now Mississippi is not part of that mix.
To vote in the primary election on March 8, you must be registered by Feb. 6. Runoff elections are March 29.
