The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Southern Miss celebrated 1960s style Monday with a fashion show.
"OLLI offers programs and seminars designed for people 50 and older," said Becky Vinzant, interim director. "This term we have a '60s theme for our courses. We're offering a seminar today on the sensational fashion of the '60s."
Most of the seminar's attendees remembered the decade fondly. They reminisced over the length of the skirts they wore and the boldness of the patterns.
"We have shown a huge amount of tie dye ensembles, leopard, mini skirts, maxis, great coats," said Jo McDivitt, author and publisher. "The '60s just had so many styles."
The models showcased the iconic fashions of the era that was all about breaking the rules. And they did it all to the toe-tapping tunes of the 1960s.
