Panther Pet Hospital gets donation to help lost pets

PETAL, MS (WDAM) - The Petal Panther Hospital has taken in six-dogs who got separated from their owners after the tornado.

John Sibley, the storm chaser who shot the video of the tornado moving down Hardy Street went to the pet hospital today to give them a $500 check for the displaced dogs care. The money came from the Storm Assist fund. Storm Assist of Mobile Ala. raises money through the sale of storm videos, pictures, and calendars to help storm victims in devastated areas.

The hospital is currently boarding four of the dogs and two of them are in foster care. Five of the six dogs were found in the Petal area, most in behind the Ace Hardware Building on Main Street that was destroyed. The other was found near the library on Hardy Street in Hattiesburg.

"This helps a lot to be able to help these displaced pets," said Ashley Bahm, Panther Pet Hospital. "This will allow us to get more food, provide shelter, and hopefully get them back to their owners."

If you believe one on the dogs may belong to you can contact the vet office at 601-544-3290.
