Stephanie Stephens has pleaded not guilty to the murder of her husband. She was arraigned Monday in Forrest County Circuit Court. The defense is seeking to have the trial moved out of the area because the case has been so publicized. Judge Jess Dickenson says the trial will be held in northern Mississippi, at a site to be chosen later. An autopsy allegedly showed that Dr. David Stephens died from two intravenous anesthetic drugs found in his system. According to special prosecutor, Keith Miller, "It's a strong circumstantial evidence case. I gave copies of discovery to the defense which was more than 2,000 pages of documents he will have to review to get prepared for the trial." Stephens is set for trial September 8th. If convicted she could be sent to prison for life.
