LAUREL, Miss. (WDAM) - The first day of Mississippi Made is happening this Saturday.

Mississippi Made is put on by the Laurel Mercantile Co. It features about 12 artisans and craftsmen from the state.

It’s happening from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Laurel Mercantile Yard located at 414 Front St.

Laurel Mercantile Owners say the event is all about showcasing Mississippi creators in an authentic way.

“We feel like it’s a really cool opportunity for folks in our community and folks traveling to really connect to the people who are making these products and see there’s a lot of really talented artisans in our area and our state, and we’re just really excited to showcase them,” said Mallorie Rasberry, co-owner of the Laurel Mercantile Co. “It’s just a really fun day to get out with the family and be in downtown Laurel and be proud of some of the things that are coming out of Mississippi.”

Mississippi Made is free and open to the public. The next three events are set for May 28, June 11 and Sept. 3, 2022.
