COLUMBIA, Miss. (WDAM) - Dozens of students at Columbia High School are taking the stage this weekend to perform in the Broadway hit, “Annie.”

Two different casts (Blue and Gold) are performing shows on a rotating basis at the Crystelle Ford Auditorium on the high school campus.

It’s the first big musical production at CHS since the beginning of the pandemic.

Performances started Thursday night and will continue Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m.

There’s also a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m.

“I’m proud of each and every one of us for all the hard work and dedication we put into it, and we’ve all just kind of been there to support each other,” said Colby Williamson, a senior blue cast member who plays Warbucks in the production.

“Everyone has been super cooperative, we’ve all just managed to link together and find new ways to help each other, better each other, both casts,” said Julia Johnson, a senior blue cast member who plays Miss Hannigan.
