HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Hattiesburg Ward 2 Councilwoman Deborah Delgado held a “chat-n-chew” for the community near William Carey University.
The event happened at 2616 McLelland Street in Hattiesburg Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
It was a way for people to come and ask Delgado questions and discuss the community of Hattiesburg.
Delgado explains why the event was needed.
“We came out to the William Carey community to talk to the people. To answer their questions. To talk to them about getting a vaccine,” said Delgado. “You know if they are interested, we are taking their information and trying to help them get an appointment. In addition to that, we are giving them hand sanitizer, facemasks and giving them a plate of food.”
Delgado is running for another term as Ward 2 councilwoman.
