HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Spectrum: The Other Clinic is in the process of reconstructing its new building located on Hardy Street.

“Come grab a coffee, hang out in the front lobby or on the front porch and just be yourself so that you don’t have to worry about all the crap society throws at you,” said clinic owner Stacie Pace.

Spectrum: The Other Clinic specializes in Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy.

Since this summer, the clinic has been operating as a telehealth service, but with a recent influx of patients, it’s finally able to get ready for in house services.

”When/if, you know, all the COVID restrictions and everything eventually ease off, whenever we get past all this, then we’re hoping to have more in-person services here,” Pace said. “Until then, we will remain mostly telemedicine.”

Pace said her team has big plans for the building.

”We have so many plans for this place. I don’t know what the timeline for it all will be. Definitely, the actual telemedicine part, the actual HRT part, in person for telehealth, is our priority,” Pace said. “We would also like to have kind of like a safe place.”

Pace said she’s excited to see her dreams for the clinic coming true.

”There’s just nothing for trans people,” Pace said. “Whether it be just for primary care or hormones or whatnot. Hormones, by far, are the hardest for them to obtain. Now we’re here and we’re going to help try and fill the needs for the trans community.”

The goal is for the clinic to open around the beginning of February 2021.
