RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - An inmate has been found dead at Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Rankin County.

Coroner David Ruth confirmed that he was called Sunday morning to a death investigation at the facility.

He recovered one body and took it to the state crime lab for an autopsy.

The inmate was identified as David Lee May, 42. The cause of death is currently unknown.

May was serving life for two aggravated assaults in Harrison County.
