Warming stations opening in the Pine Belt
Temperatures in the Pine Belt are expected to tumble into the 20s overnight.

PINE BELT (WDAM) - A couple of warming stations will open in the Pine Belt as temperatures are expected to fall below freezing overnight.

In Hattiesburg, the Forrest County 361 Safe Room will open Tuesday night at 6 p.m. and close at 8 a.m. Wednesday morning. The shelter is located at 946 Sullivan Drive in Hattiesburg.

The Laurel Salvation Army will also open a warming station at 205 north 13th Avenue. The shelter is open now and will remain open until temperatures reach above 32 degrees on Wednesday.

Temperatures in the Pine Belt are expected to tumble into the 20s overnight, with some places experiencing temperatures under 25 degrees. Most areas will bottom our around 26 or 27 degrees.

Freezing temperatures are expected to remain until around 9 or 10 a.m. Wednesday.
