BASSFIELD, Miss. (WDAM) - In what’s been called the SEC West of Class 3A football, Columbia and Jefferson Davis clash in an all-important region 8-3A contest on Friday night.
The Wildcats roar into Bassfield at 6-0 while the Jaguars are 2-4, having dropped three of their last four games in part due to a slew of injuries. Head coach Lance Mancuso will start his fourth different quarterback on Friday.
“Our guys are going to go out there and give a great effort,” Mancuso said. “We’ve had some bad luck and some bad run the past few weeks and I’m just proud of the way they’ve bounced back each week at practice.” “They’ve really worked hard since January to be a great team,” said Columbia head coach Chip Bilderback. “This is one of those games where you’ve kind of worked for it. And our district is so tough so you gotta bring it every single week.”
