JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - A boil water advisory has been lifted for around 500 customers of the J.P. Utility District in Jones County.

The utility company announced Thursday the boil water notice was put into place because of a leak in the area of Pecan Grove Road, Ellisville Tuckers Crossing Road, Luther Hill Road and Currie Road. Many of the homes in this area had low or no water pressure because of the leak, according to a news release.

Officials with J.P. Utility District said the leak has been repaired and normal service has been returned to all customers. Water system spokeswoman Linda Griffin said testing shows the water is safe to drink.
