LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - Eleven years ago, Richard Headrick and his wife felt people battle addiction needed a place to get the help they needed so, they created Hellfighters.
"We felt the need, my wife and I, of a little place that guys who have had an addiction could come meet Jesus, get over their hump, and get back into society with Jesus in their hearts,” said Headrick.
It started off as a program for addicts to get back on their feet, it has since grown.
"The guys that work here and the gals that work here, except for one, all of them have been prisoners of addiction. They have come out of that. They have met Jesus and they now work here and spread the gospel light," said Headrick.
The business consists of a motorcycle and jeep shop and will soon have a restaurant.
