HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Hattiesburg School District hung out the “help wanted” sign Saturday morning.
It hosted a job fair at the district’s administrative offices on Mamie Street.
Dozens of job candidates brought their resumes, hoping to be hired for teaching positions in the fields of math, science or English.
District personnel said several elementary school and administrative positions were also open.
They also said many bus drivers were needed.
“This is a crucial time for us as we’re wrapping up the end of one school year and preparing for next school year, so we just want to make sure that we have our classrooms filled with qualified teachers,” said Samone Wilson, communications and engagement coordinator for Hattiesburg Schools.
Wilson said the district hosts several job fairs each year.
