WAYNESBORO, MS (WDAM) - Four juveniles were taken into custody after a shooting in Waynesboro led to a police chase on Saturday night.

Waynesboro Police Chief Holt Ross said a vehicle pulled up to a residence on Maple Street Saturday night and fired shots from the vehicle. No one was injured in the shooting.

Ross said a pursuit began after officers spotted a vehicle matching its description in Waynesboro. The pursuit led to U.S. Highway 84 into Jones County, where the chase ended and four juveniles were taken into custody.

Commander Investigator Don Hopkins said the vehicle was stolen from Kim’s No Bull automotive in Laurel.

Two of the juveniles will be tried as adults, both 17 years old, and the other two were released to their parents, though they may be charged with misdemeanors.

The driver of the vehicle will be charged with felony fleeing in a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Police did not release the charges of the other individual being charged as an adult.
