WAYNESBORO, MS (WDAM) - A man killed in an overnight shooting in Waynesboro has been identified.

Wayne County Deputy Coroner Mike Williams identified the man killed as 34-year-old Kamarcus West. Two other people were injured in the shooting.

Officials with the Waynesboro Police Department said the deadly shooting happened on Joiner Street just before midnight Sunday.

Police said the person killed in the shooting was shot several times. A second victim is in critical condition in a Jackson hospital. The condition of the third victim is unknown.

Police said it is unclear if there was one or multiple shooters involved in the incident but did note that a gun was recovered from the scene. Investigators said no arrests have been made but they do have a person of interest in mind as they continue collecting evidence.
