HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Southern Miss is five practices in to the spring football season as the Golden Eagles prepare for April 13th’s spring game.
Several new faces infiltrate “The Rock” including co-offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner.
Faulkner joins USM after three years at Arkansas State where the Red Wolves set a school record in 2017 – averaging 494 yards of offense per game.
“Buster’s a guy that really pays close attention to detail and he’s guy that’s demanding on the little things,” said fourth-year USM head coach Jay Hopson. “And I think that’s something that’s critical. He’s a tough edge offensive coach and he wants his offensive football team to be physical. He’s an excellent teacher and he’s a guy that demands the guys do the right thing. I’m excited about him. I think he’s going to do an outstanding job and just excited that he chose to be a part of the black and gold.”
