HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Arnold Line Water Association’s board and membership agreed on new leadership during a Tuesday night meeting in Hattiesburg. The new leaders are to step in immediately.
Sam Britton, Southern District commisioner for the Mississippi Public Service Commission, announced that a new president and two new board members accepted the roles in managing the water association.
The water association has been plagued with complaints and an investigation into the association was relaunched in June 2018 by the Mississippi PSC.
Britton has voiced concern regarding customer service issues and have worked with members of Arnold Line to implement change.
“This whole process was about treating people fairly,” Britton said. “The members are the owners of this water association and they wanted to see some changes. I’m glad we were able to make sure this process moved forward and help usher in a new era at Arnold Line.”
Britton said he appreciated the new Arnold Line president, James Bennett, the members of Arnold Line, the Mississippi Rural Water Association and the Attorney General’s office for their involvement in the case.
“This has been a great example of what can be accomplished when people work together," Britton said.
