HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Night to Shine event is an unforgettable prom night experience.
The luxury event took place Friday night at Temple Baptist Church on Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. to celebrate people with special needs and disabilities. The Night to Shine team said that over 300 guests attended and 500 volunteers helped out for the big event. The event was sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.
Kelli Brent, a Night to Shine team member, said that every person leaves the prom feeling special.
“Tim Tebow’s message tells them that they are valuable, that God sees them as kings and queens and so that is why every one of them is crowned,” said Brent.
As doors opened at 6 p.m., guests picked up a badge and found a buddy to escape and dance the night away with. The event was completely free for anyone with a disability or special need. Free limousine rides, free touch ups on hair and makeup, boot shining, buffet style food and dancing was available for all attendees.
