POPLARVILLE, MS (WDAM) - Bids will be opened in a couple of weeks on a major renovation and expansion of the science building on the Poplarville Campus of Pearl River Community College.
The $6.5 million project includes an 11,000-square-foot expansion on the east side of the current facility. It will include new lab space and classrooms.
Later this spring, bids will be taken on two new residence halls that will be built on the football practice field. Those dorms will have 260 beds.
“(The dorms are) going to be located right in the center of our campus around activities,” said Adam Breerwood, President of PRCC. “It’s going to be in a great location, and we think it’s going to be a really special addition.”
Total costs for the residence halls will total more than $13 million.
