HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -The Hattiesburg Salvation Army has gotten a major gift from Belk.
The organization received $20,000 Saturday morning, during Belk’s 130th anniversary celebration.
Belk is based in North Carolina.
“We’ve been very involved with the Salvation Army, here at the store as well as the company and we know the services they offer, so we know the $20,000 as well as they manage it, will go a long way,” said Paul Clingan, store manager.
“It will help us with the utility assistance, with the Pathway of Hope programs and with feeding assistance,” said Capt. Stacey Connelly, with the Hattiesburg Salvation Army.
Belk was founded in 1888.
