COVINGTON COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Covington County is spending more than $200,000 to bring several county buildings into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

A new wheelchair ramp is being built at the county courthouse and improvements to doorways are being made at both the courthouse and chancery building.

Other upgrades are being made at more than a dozen voting precincts.

The work is being done after a federal inspection showed that many county buildings were not ADA-compliant.
