World War II aircraft on display at Bobby Chain Airport

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A crowd of World War II aircraft enthusiasts from the Pine Belt are in for a treat this week.

Three restored planes used in the war flew into the hub city's Bobby Chain Airport Wednesday, and will be on display until Friday, offering rides as well.

The B-17, B-24 and the P-51c are on display as part of the Collings Foundation's multi-city Wings of Freedom tour. The organization tours the country with the restored planes, educating the public about their use.

The planes are on display at the 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. on Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday.
