Hattiesburg to offer free prescription drug cards

The City of Hattiesburg and the National League of Cities have teamed up to help residents save money on prescription drugs.

Beginning Monday, Hattiesburg residents can save up to 20 percent on their prescriptions by using a prescription discount card.

These can be picked up at City Hall, some community centers, medical facilities, banks and local pharmacies.

It is part of a new program by the national league of cities and caremark to help those who don't have health insurance or those who have drugs not covered by some insurance plans. I i's a free service, and enrolling in the program is easy.

There are no restrictions for age, income level or existing health insurance. For more information, you can call 1-888-620-1749.
