Petal car accident leaves vehicle lodged in building

A two-car accident in Petal Thursday left one woman with minor injuries and a vehicle stuck in a building.

The accident occurred at around 2 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 42 and Old Corinth Road.

An eastbound vehicle was preparing to make a left turn when it was hit by another vehicle traveling westbound. The westbound vehicle left the road and crashed through the front window of an unoccupied boutique.

A Petal police official said one or both of the drivers may have been distracted by a disturbance in a nearby parking lot.

The driver of the vehicle which hit the store was taken to Forrest General Hospital.

The other driver was apparently uninjured.
