Brothers beat man attempting to break into mother's car

HATTIESBURG, MS (wdam) - They saw someone breaking into their mom's car, so they took action.

Brian Evans, 27, of Bellfontaine, Ohio recieved a massive beating after neighbor's spotted him allegedly breaking into a car on Shears Road behind Lowe's in Hattiesburg.

Authorities said Evans, who recently moved to Hattiesburg, was attempting to burglarize a 2002 Mazda when he was spotted by neighbors. They called deputies, but not before a couple of guys handed out their own brand of street justice.

Evans was taken to a Hattiesburg hospital for medical treatment and then to the Lamar County jail.

Authorities said no other charges will be filed in the case.
