Four caught allegedly robbing Lamar County home

Four south Mississippi men were caught Tuesday allegedly in the act of trying to burglarize a home on Flint Ridge Road in Lamar County.

Authorities said Leroy McGill, Nicholas Smith, Victor Chapman and Brent Mixon were in the process of stealing weapons from a home when the owner showed up.

The four fled into the woods but were apprehended after Lamar County deputies, game wardens, and were called in.

The four, who are from Hattiesburg, Petal, Collins, and South Forrest County are charged with residential burglary.
