Hattiesburg Police are looking for two suspects involved in a credit card purchasing scam.
Investigators are looking for Trenard Johnson, 23, of Hattiesburg and Willie Liddell, 19, of Jackson who allegedly scammed a store out of nearly $8,000.
One of the suspects gathered merchandise and attempted to pay at the register. When the store clerk told the suspect his credit card was denied, the suspect said the rejection was expected and asked the clerk to contact the credit card company, providing the phone number.
The number was bogus, and actually rang the other suspect who pretended to be the credit card's customer service repreresentative who approved the charge and gave a bogus conformation number.
If you have any information on this crime or these suspects, call both the Hattiesburg Police and Metro Crime Stoppers at 601-582-STOP (7867).
