A Jones County Sheriff's Department captain received minor injuries Friday night when the patrol motorcycle he was riding was involved in an accident with a motorist who fled the scene. Captain Jerry Hutcheson sustained bruised ribs and a dislocated finger when he slid his new patrol bike on the highway to avoid hitting a car which allegedly pulled out in front of him.
The accident happened on Highway 11 in Sandersville around 5:30 p.m. The car was dark-colored, possibly a Nissan Altima, and it left the scene.
The Jones County Sheriff's Department is hoping you can help identify the driver of that car.
Sheriff Alex Hodge says the bike had only minor damage.
