Laurel police respond to shooting at Howard Industries Christmas party

Two men were hospitalized Saturday after a shootout following a Howard Industries Christmas party.

As Howard Industries employees were leaving the L.T. Ellis Community Center in Laurel, two employees were involved in an altercation and started shooting at one another, police said.

Both men were shot in the leg and taken to South Central Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Detective Earl Reed said the individuals names will not be released and charges will not be filed because both parties involved refused to cooperate with authorities.
