USM receives $400,000 grant to improve emergency management

The University of Southern Mississippi has announced plans to develop emergency management efforts on campus.

These plans are thanks to a grant worth over $400,000, part of $5.2 million from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools.

The purpose of the grant is to develop and improve emergency strategies. The university is one of 13 recipients nationwide to receive the grant.
