Man shot in face ID'd: County supervisor's son

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Jackson police say a man who had been shot

in the face was identified Saturday as the sun of a Hinds County

supervisor.

Police say the partly clad body of 47-year-old George Smith Jr.

was found Friday in woods in west Jackson.

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart said he had been

shot in the face.

Smith is the son of County Supervisor George Smith Sr. Police

say the younger Smith had been reported missing.

His death is Jackson's 65th homicide this year.

Police have not named any suspects or made any arrests.
