Deer crashes into window in downtown Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A deer has died after crashing into a

plate glass window of a downtown Jackson office building.

The Clarion-Ledger reported on its Web site Friday that shards

of glass littered the sidewalk and fur was visible on the side of

the Lamar Life Building. A photographer and a reporter from the

newspaper saw the damage.

The building is on Capitol Street and is across from the

Governor's Mansion.

The Mattiace Co. manages the Lamar Life Building. Jack Lowery,

an employee, said the company will likely board up the window until

the glass can be replaced Monday.

It was unclear how the buck got into downtown Jackson.
