Police investigate murder of schoolteacher

Laurel Police are looking for the suspects who murdered a woman and tried to cover-up the crime by setting fire to her house.  Details are incomplete, but Laurel Police say the victim's body was found inside a home on West 15th Street after authorities responded to a fire at the residence around 12:45 p.m.  

The name of the victim has not been released, but police say she was white and in her late 20's.  Police say the incident is a homicide. 

An autopsy will be performed in Jackson tomorrow. 

Sources tell us the victim was a schoolteacher and the suspects set fire to the home after killing her.  Police are also searching for the victim's vehicle...a 2001 silver Honda CRV.

    Bond was set for two Jones County church burglary suspects on Thursday.  The two individuals, who authorities say are responsible for a rash of church burglaries, made their initial appearances in court on Thursday.   Roderick Zamora, 30 of Ovett, was positively identified by his parole officer.
