Another student indicted in alleged USM hazing

The eleventh and final Southern Miss Student has been indicted in connection with an August hazing incident that landed one female student in the hospital with alcohol poisoning.

Elan Griggs, 21, of Gulfport was served Tuesday with a Forrest County Grand Jury indictment accusing him of conspiracy to commit hazing, two counts of first degree hazing, and one count of second degree hazing.

Ten other students were indicted last week in connection with the alleged incident that occurred at the Kappa Sigma Fraternity house during an initiation party for Little Sisters.

The fraternity has since lost its charter. All 11 are expected in court later this month.
