Editorial: Veteran's Day

November 11 is a very special day. It is the day we set aside to remember all those who have served in our nation’s armed services since we first fought for our independence.
It is Veteran's
Day. From the bitter cold of Valley Forge, to the trenches of World War I, to the beaches of Normandy and Iwo Jima, to the steaming jungles of Vietnam, to Korea, to our current conflicts in the mountains of Afghanistan and the sands of Iraq and every moment and conflict in between; our armed forces have kept us safe and free.
Quartermasters and pilots, artillery gunners and engineers, sailors on the sea and boots on the ground all did their part and gave a piece of their life to serve their country.  Freedom always demands a price and liberty necessitates a sacrifice.
The United States of America could not exist without the men and women of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. We salute you and want you to know that we honor your service. We hope you will always carry the appreciation of a proud nation in your hearts.
I’m Jim Cameron. As always, we enjoy hearing from you.
