Lamar County police searching for Buffalo killer

Metro Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for tips leading to the whoever shot and killed some buffalo in Lamar County.

Tom Freeman of Crown Zellerbach Road in Baxterville owned the buffalo. Freeman said over the last seven months someone killed six of his prize male buffalos.

He doesn't know if the shooters are firing through a fence surrounfing his property or if they are trespassing. The State Agricultural Livestock Theft Bureau is investigating.

"It has been as most recently as two weeks ago," said Freeman. "They have killed two animals within about 17 days, two of my largest bulls. Every animal that's been shot has been either a large bull or a large cow, a mature animal."
