State voter rolls under scrutiny

Failure to remove the names of the dead and people who have moved has given 24 of the state's 82 counties more registered voters than people of voting age.

The worst county in the state is Madison County, whose population over the age of 18 is 53,000, but almost 77,000 people are registered to vote.

One election commissioner attempted to purge the rolls but ran into legal roadblocks. Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann admits the situation is terrible.

Hosemann says 190,000 new voters have registered in time for the november fourth election. He's predicting a historic turnout.
