TX man jailed for transporting dope in vehicle

A Texas man is in jail in Hattiesburg tonight, facing drug charges after he was arrested for allegedly transporting several pounds of marijuana through the Hub City.  37-year-old Jerald Andrew Williams of Baytown, Texas was arrested by Hattiesburg Police Friday afternoon after his car was pulled over on Interstate-59 for a routine traffic violation.

Officers say Williams was carrying more than 5 pounds of marijuana inside his 2007 Chrysler Pacific.

Police say the drugs have a street value of more than $25,000.
