Hattiesburg 20-year plan heads to council for approval

After 18 months, the Hattiesburg 2008 to 2028 comprehensive plan has been finalized and is ready to be presented to the city council for final approval.

The 20-year plan identifies long range goals that will be used to guide public and private decision making related to Hattiesburg's future growth and community development. The plan was drafted by Neel-Schaffer Engineering and Consulting with input from public officials and citizens groups. Council president Kim Bradley says one of the key components to the plan will involve how the city is zoned in the future.
