Oak Grove Middle School receives prestigious award

The students and staff of Oak Grove Middle School were honored Thursday by the United States Department of Education.

The school is one of four middle schools in the state to be awarded the 2008 No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School Award - the highest honor given to schools by the Department of Education.

Each school is given a series of tests over the course of three years, and the DOE nominates schools in each district based on scores, classroom curriculum and extra-curricular activities.
