Three questioned in death of DSU student

Three people have been detained in the investigation into the shooting death of an 18-year-old Delta State University student at a nightclub.

Authorities say a fight at Old Club Checkers in Benoit led to this past weekend's shooting. Robert Johnson and his friend Kiana Giles were not involved in the fight, police say, Johnson was killed when one of the shots hit him in the chest. Giles was shot in the arm.

Johnson died Saturday at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville.  No other details have been released.

Authorities have not identified the three people detained in the case.  Johnson was a star football player at Ray Brooks High School.
