Gunfire causes explosion at apartment complex

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A bullet struck a natural gas line in

Jackson early Sunday, causing an explosion that damaged an

apartment complex.

There were no residents injured in the explosion at the Reserve

apartments. Residents told authorities they were awakened in the

early morning hours by gunfire followed by an explosion about 30

minutes later. Police have made no arrests in the case.

A first floor apartment was hit multiple times. An Atmos Energy

worker says a bullet struck a natural gas line causing a leak.

ATF agents are investigating the explosion.
